Another guest post from the west coast this week! Our roving reporter (@hopemanbob) sent this painting along. The application is superb as getting a concept to work around a corner is very tricky. After a little research, it looks like the original had more at the bottom that’s been defaced (and hence cut from this shot). View the original from @vivacheman for the context — it really brings home the title.

The lettering in the speech bubble is great, a little bit of calligraphy in the hand written style. Having the woman’s eyes closed also brings emotion to this large piece.

One more from the travels of our foreign correspondent, @hopemanbob. Based on all the tags and graffiti added to the face, I’d guess this painting is at a bus stop. None of this deters from the cartoon illustration style which is somehow recognizable. The eyes have wonderful shading.

Another shot from our roving reporter, @hopemanbob. I really like that this large mural portrays both sides, the savior and the destroyer, full of both peace and war. The monotone color palette also really helps to emphasize this dichotomy.

Another find from our foreign correspondent @hopemanbob. This one is a large wall mural from artist Filip Letinu for a local bike rental company.

Wonderful detail in this street mural full of pathos and hope. The wing breaking out of the frame is a great, subtle touch.
This is another guest post courtesy of @hopemanbob, so we’re officially promoting him to Foreign Correspondent!

So many great details in this piece. From the little heart lock on her lapel, the key in her hand, her Cubist inspired open eye, the heart tattoo on his arm to the tear on his cheek. Somehow the whole story is there to read.
